Technical Assistance and Application Preparation (TAAP)
The State has delegated to each COG the authority to annually recommend applications for the RA funds.
The COG is responsible for:
- Ensuring applications are consistent with its approved MOD.
- Ensuring applications are compliant with all state and federal CDBG requirements.
- Providing TAAP to applicants as requested or needed.
The COG assists the community by:
- Preparing ads and conducting hearings.
- Responding to questions from public and nonprofits.
- Determining if the proposed project is fundable and allowable.
- Researching census or other LM data.
- Planning and determining scope of work and budget.
- Determining beneficiaries and racial information.
- Filling out the requisite forms, maps, resolutions, etc.
- Reviewing a completed application before recommending to SEAGO’s Executive Board for funding.
- Correcting applications as needed and as allowable before submitting to ADOH.
- The community may contract with SEAGO to write the application for them.
