Virtually anyone can apply for Transportation Enhancement funding! However, to receive consideration, and be awarded funding, the project must be sponsored by an appropriate governmental agency. The sponsoring agency is usually a town, city, county, tribe or federal land management agency.
This is a highly competitive pot of money. Only $8,000,000 is awarded for local projects and $4,000,000 awarded for state projects for the whole state of Arizona.
The people who are developing the ideas - whether it be a government entity, group, or individual - must first submit their ideas to SEAGO. SEAGO staff will evaluate your idea, and provide technical assistance, and advice for your project.
A copy of the Handbook, application, Cost Estimates Form, and list of awarded projects, are available at http://www.azdot.gov/highways/SWProjMgmt/enhancement/how_to_apply.asp
The 2008 TEA’s are now available. The application has changed, so please read the time line memo and all instructions before submitting to SEAGO. The new application and supporting materials are available here.
